In 2001 she left her career at Intel Corporation to raise her family while pursuing her love of writing full time, and in 2003 Laura's short personal story Smithy's Lesson on Life won 1st Place in the Cleverkitty Caterwauling Literary Contest. Laura currently works as a freelance writer, including editing on the side. She has had numerous articles published in the Washington Association of Realtors trade magazines. Laura is a member of the Society of Children's Book Writers & Illustrators and has several completed children's works for which she is actively searching for an agent. In addition to writing Laura dabbles in photography. Laura also
